Bara’s coach Saruns Jasikevicius, assured this Friday that Zalgiris Kaunas “is the team with the most character in the Euroleague. Nobody expected this from them at the start of the season. They played excellent basketball in the first half of the season”, analyzed the Lithuanian coach from the conference room press at the Palau Blaugrana after defeating Valencia Basket (85-71).

‘Saras’ continued with the analysis of his opponent in the quarterfinals: “They had a very important setback with Evans’ injury and many people did not give a penny for them. They have known how to readapt with their character, with the support of their followers and the ability they have to take the games forward”.

“We have to think about who has left this team behind. In 34 games there are no surprises. They have been better than Fenerbahce, Valencia, Virtus, Efes… I am very happy for them, although it is always difficult to return to that track. I love Zalgiris since I was six years old, but now they are my rival and it is not pleasant to play against them,” he added.

Regarding the victory against Valencia Basket, Jasikevicius stated that the match was as expected: “We played very good basketball at times, but the 21 losses did not let us take off. Although scoring so many points with 21 turnovers is a great result.”

“We should be happy with this victory and in general with the regular season. We must value the fact of being the second best team in Europe. In the last two months the team has responded very well to the big events. We are quite healthy and playing the best basketball of the season. We should trust him”, he concluded.
