Curry, Poole and Thompson give Warriors victory over Spurs | Basketball

SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole combined to hit 20 3-pointers in Friday’s game as the Golden State Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs 130-115.

Curry scored 33 points, Thompson had 31 and Poole finished with 27. Poole’s first of six 3-pointers meant that three Golden State players this season have made 200 or more baskets from long range.

This is only the second team to achieve this feat. Only one of the other Warriors 3-pointers in the game was made by another player.

Curry made 11 of 21 shots and 7 of 11 3-pointers. Thompson also made seven 3-pointers for the reigning NBA champions, who remained in sixth place in the Western Conference.

They have a record of 41-37, identical to that of the Los Angeles Clippers, who are fifth and have the tiebreaker in their favor.

This may have been San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich’s last meeting against his dear friend, student and former assistant Steve Kerr. The two hugged and chatted after the final buzzer sounded.
