the essentials in brief

  • Reporter Carrie Gillaspie spotted a dog stuck in a car hood.
  • The car owner couldn’t explain how the four-legged friend got in there.
  • The bitch was saved.

Carrie Gillaspie is a reporter for the baseball team “Kansas City Royals” – and has already seen a lot. But what she recently discovered probably surprised her too: in the parking lot of the stadium, the reporter heard a strange noise coming from someone else’s bonnet.

She fetched the car’s owner, Ashley Newman, and opened the hood of the car. What the women discovered was an absolute shock: a dog had “lost” in the engine and couldn’t get out. “We looked in for a few seconds and then we were sure that two eyes would be looking at us,” Newan told the news channel KCTV.

Gillaspie said the dog looked so happy when she was found. Unfortunately, the women didn’t know how to get the four-legged friend out. Stadium mechanic Dennis Miller, who came to the rescue, eventually managed to free the animal. The dog was then brought in for an examination.

Finally, the owner of the dog was tracked down on Facebook. She lives in Johnson County, which is half an hour from the stadium. Newman drove almost 50 kilometers with “Bonbon”, as the dog is called, in the hood.
