The XV of France will play four preparation matches for the 2023 World Cup in August, including three at home, against Scotland twice, then against Fiji and finally against Australia, formalized this Wednesday evening the French Rugby Federation (FFR). The Blues, who will play on their soil the World Cup (September 8-October 28), of which they are one of the favorite teams, will begin this “Summer Nations Series” on August 5 at Murrayfield.

They will then host the XV du Chardon at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium in Saint-Étienne on August 12, before going to Nantes, at La Beaujoire, to receive Fiji there on August 19. On August 21, the list of 33 players who will play in the World Cup will be revealed, before a final match against Australia at the Stade de France on August 27.

In the meantime, a group of 42 players, whose names will be announced on June 21, will have completed various training courses: in Carpiagne (Bouches-du-Rhône), within the Foreign Legion, from June 26 to 28, then in Monaco from July 2 to 14. From July 24 to August 3, the Blues will find the CNR of Marcoussis before meeting in Capbreton (Landes) from August 7 to 25, where they had started their preparation for the 2023 Six Nations Tournament.

France will play the opening match of the World Cup on September 8 against the New Zealand All Blacks.
