Marcelo is back at Fluminense, and the arrival of the left-back was much celebrated at the club’s base. In Xerém, the return of the player trained in Tricolor was celebrated by both the kids and the board, who believe that his arrival will help publicize the work and attract new young people to Flu.
“Marcelo is a player who, in addition to being trained in Xerém, has a lot of identification with our base. Whenever he could, he visited our CT, talked to our young people, took pictures with players and employees. It was exciting to see our Sub-12 singing music for him before training last Friday. I’m sure that our fans were very happy”, said the vice-president of the base, Rui Reisinger.
In addition to the sporting return that Marcelo can provide to Fluminense, the base managers believe that the hiring also brings strength and even more credibility to the work developed in Xerém, helping the club to attract more and more young athletes, especially in the initiation, which starts in futsal and goes up to the Sub-13. Marcelo was the first great fruit of the integration of tricolor futsal with the club’s base, placing the sport as part of the athletes’ development process for the field.
“It is very important for our formation to have a player with such representativeness, formed here in Xerém, winner and idol of the kids, returning to Fluminense. Marcelo’s arrival opens up a range of possibilities for our brand and will certainly help us in attracting and maintaining dos Moleques de Xerém. We are very excited”, said the executive director of the base, Antônio Garcia.
