Wout van Aert starts in Milan-Sanremo with self-designed helmet: “The coolest in the peloton”

Wout van Aert will look a little different on Saturday during Milan-Sanremo. Our 28-year-old compatriot exchanges his previous Red Bull helmet for a new one he designed himself. Van Aert did this in collaboration with Red Bull and Lazer, his personal sponsor and that of Jumbo-Visma.

“I have the coolest helmet in the entire peloton,” Van Aert said on the Lazer website. “It is unique and I am proud of it. Lazer has been my go-to helmet brand for years, even before I turned pro. To celebrate those years of and above all successful cooperation, I was given the opportunity to design my own helmet together with them and Red Bull.”

The result: the Strada KinetiCore and the Vento KinetiCore. Both helmets are also on sale for fans. For the first you pay around 80 euros, the second is slightly more unique. Only 1994 of the Vento KenitiCore (not coincidentally also the year of birth of VAn Aert) are available. That helmet is more aerodynamic and costs 180 euros.
