Wolfsburg-PSG (1-1): broken collarbone for Diani, absent for six weeks

Upon his appointment this Thursday at the head of the France team, Hervé Renard planned to summon the “rebellious”, Wendie Renard and Kadidiatou Diani. But the first list of the new coach of Les Bleues, this Friday noon, for the next two games against Colombia (April 7 in Clermont) and against Canada (11 at Le Mans), will not contain the name of Diani.

The top French scorer of the season with PSG is indeed suffering from a broken collarbone, the result of an action with a player from Wolfsburg (Kathrin Hendrich) just before the break for the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League. His unavailability is estimated at six weeks.

Visibly marked, the Parisian striker first left the field with the healers, before reappearing on the lawn of the Volkswagen Arena on which she lay down. She then returned to the locker room at the break with her right arm in a sling and covered in several ice packs. Amalie Vangsgaard replaced her after returning from the locker room.

After a first goal disallowed (11th) for offside, Kadidiatou Diani had previously equalized with a header. On a cross from Sakina Karchaoui (30th), she was past Janssen to deceive Frohms (30th). “There were many mistakes on this return match on Kadidiatou (Diani), never sanctioned by a card”, regretted Gérard Prêcheur, the coach, quoted on the club’s website.
