wins widely over Mitchell and Fowler loses to Horschel

Jon Rahm has redirected his situation in the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play after yesterday’s loss to Rickie Fowler. The ‘Lion of Barrika’ has beaten Keith Mitchell with authority by 4 and 3, so it partly depends on what he does against Billy Horschel this Friday to get his ticket to the round of 16 in Austin, after he the latter has beaten Fowler.

The Spaniard, who resigned from The Players two weeks ago due to a health problem suffered after the first round, won seven holes, while Mitchell took three. On hole 12 (par 5) ‘Rahmbo’ dealt a final blow, after achieving a decisive eagle. The Biscayan covered 365 meters with the first hit; after the second he left a four-meter putt that he holed out. Mitchell’s birdie was wasted. In minute 13, after a very good start by Jon, his rival desperately went into the water.

For his part, Horschel beat Fowler 3 and 2 and leads the group with 1.5 points, ahead of Rahm and Fowler, with one point, while Mitchell adds 0.5. It should be remembered that only the first classified in each group advances to the round of 16, which will be held on Saturday, followed by the quarterfinals.
