Weightlifters Mežinskis and Ivanova win Latvian championship cups

Weightlifters Armands Mežinskis and Daniela Ivanova achieved the best results in the Latvian championship this week, based on the comparative Sinclair table, reports the Latvian Weightlifting Federation.

In the weight category up to 89 kilograms, Mežinskis from Ventspils won, who lifted a total of 349 kilograms (155+194), leaving behind Silvi Grocki from Liepāja (95+125) and Jānis Vizuli from Saldus (90+115).

In the weight up to 96 kilograms, a convincing victory was won by Artūrs Vasilionokas from Daugavpils – he lifted a total of 351 kilograms (157+194). Yevgeniis Haustovs from Ventspils (95+107) and Maksims Bistrovs from Balvie (85+100) remained behind him.

Meanwhile, Artūrs Plēsnieks from Ventspils convincingly won the weight category up to 102 kilograms, lifting a total of 362 kilograms (162+200). Behind him, two Ogre weightlifters – Ritvars Dukovskis (120+155) and Valts Kalējs (102+128) got on the podium.

In the weight category over 102 kilograms, two athletes competed – Eriks Danilevičs from Daugavpils (102+134) became the champion.

Ivanova from Ventspils won the women’s competition. The absolute favorite in the deadlift lifted 98 kilograms in the third attempt, which is a new national record. He lifted 121 kilograms in the push, which gave a total of 219 kilograms.

According to Sinclair’s table, Mezhinsky and Ivanova received the championship cups.
