Wagner’s strong, Magic lose Bitter superstar diagnosis for Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns sign Kevin Durant to have a say in the NBA title race. But so far things are not going well for the ailing superstar, now he will be out for a few more weeks. Meanwhile, the playoffs for Orlando are actually no longer within reach.

Kevin Durant will miss the Phoenix Suns in the NBA for at least three weeks. The recently-drawn from Brooklyn superstar fell while warming up for his home debut against the Oklahoma City Thunder and was sidelined for the game with left ankle pain. Durant, the Suns have now announced, sprained his ankle.

“He will be reassessed in three weeks,” the club statement said. Durant has averaged 26.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in the three away games he has played for Phoenix. However, his season was already marked by injuries, Durant was unable to play for Brooklyn for around eight weeks after a knee injury in early January.

Bucks and grizzlies win without their superstars

Meanwhile, the play-off chances of the brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner with their Orlando Magic are getting smaller and smaller. Despite the 35 points of the two national basketball players (Franz 24, Moritz 11), Orlando conceded his third loss in a row at 124:131 against the Utah Jazz and is still in 13th place in the East.

Isaiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks also had nothing to gain on Friday night. After nine wins in a row, the Knicks conceded their second loss in a row with the 117:122 at the Sacramento Kings. Hartenstein got five points. The defeat has no effect on the tableau, in fifth place the Knicks are clearly heading for the play-offs.

Further east remain the Milwaukee Bucks. Without their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was still injured, the Bucks won 118:113 against the Brooklyn Nets and celebrated their third win in a row. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies got off to a really good start with a 131-110 win over the Golden State Warriors. The impressive 48:28 in the first quarter laid the foundation for the 39th win of the season against the Warriors, who had no chance despite Stephen Curry’s 29 points.
