Venezuelan basketball legend David Blanco dies | basketball 123

At the age of 54, the former Venezuelan professional basketball player, David Blanco, died on Tuesday.

The native of Higuerote, Miranda state, began his professional career in Venezuelan basketball with Panteras de Miranda, a team he was with until 1993. He played with Cocodrilos in 1994, the following year he played with Bravos de Portuguesa. Already in 1996 he had a brief stint with Marinos de Oriente, while in 1997 he began the campaign with Gaiteros del Zulia and ended it in the ranks of Toros de Aragua.

In 1998 he closed his participation in Venezuelan basketball with Cocodrilos de Caracas.

Target of 2.05m, he served in position five. Defense was his best tool on the court. However, he left in 326 games, 666 points and 306 rebounds, according to data from statistician Pedro Marrero.
