The Curaçao squad arrived in Santiago del Estero this Monday to play the friendly match this Tuesday against the Argentine National Team. Along with his arrival, the footballers made an unusual request for the world champion captain, Lionel Messi.
The midfielder Leandro Bacuna and the defender Cuco Martina admitted that all the members of the squad want to take the shirt of the Paris Saint Germain soccer player from Argentine territory.
“We are more than 20 players. Please arrange 23 shirts for us,” was Martina’s claim, which she made public in an interview with TyC Sports.
The request has some logic if one of the situations experienced in Argentina-Panama is taken into account, when two Panamanian players fought over a shirt of midfielder Enzo Fernández through a “Rock, paper or scissors.”
The two representatives of Curaçao recognized that the meeting this Tuesday in the Unique Mother of Cities State will be “incredible” and that they will try to “enjoy every minute”.
“It’s a dream come true, it’s something fantastic,” said Martina.
