Unrest within Red Bull: “Think it could explode at any moment”

The Red Bull Racing team is currently the team to beat in Formula 1. The Austrian racing stable won the first two Grands Prix and Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were mainly each other’s great rivals. Red Bull is keeping calm in this situation, but Marc Surer sees distrust emerging.

Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez fought a duel for the fastest lap in Saudi Arabia a week and a half ago. The Austrian racing stable gave both drivers a different radio message and Perez in particular did not seem too happy about that. The Mexican was also not exactly happy with the fact that Verstappen claimed the fastest lap in the very last lap of the race.

Former driver and current analyst Marc Surer sees an interesting situation emerging within the Red Bull Racing team. Although it seems to remain calm with the team, Surer sees it differently in conversation with Motorsport-Total: “It sounds like there has been some mutual distrust between the drivers. It has never gone away, after all it is still there. The team is doing it Calm about it and the drivers are not commenting on it at all. However, it can explode at any time.”
