Appointed coach of Bayern Munich until 2025 after the departure of Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel was presented to the press by the Bavarian club this Saturday. The German technician returned to the first contacts with his new management and revealed his surprise.
“I was a little wary for the first thirty seconds of our first chat. I didn’t know what we were discussing. It then became clear that it was for now. I was totally surprised. The timing was surprising. I absolutely did not expect that, there had been no contact before (Tuesday), “said the former PSG coach to journalists.
“There was a strong tendency for me to continue my coaching career abroad instead. And on Tuesday evening, I received a call from Bayern. I asked to have the night as a deadline before making my decision, but above all to realizing what was really going on. The next day, we immediately found common ground. In my eyes, it is the ideal choice”, he confessed.
