The National Police has arrested this Wednesday the president of the Balearic Boxing Federation, Jorge Sanchezand his father and vice president of the organization, Manuel Sanchez, accused of an alleged crime of favoring illegal immigration. As he points out Majorca Newspaperboth would have favored the arrival of Nicaraguan boxers to participate in boxing evenings.
The arrests, in which the treasurer and secretary of the federation are also includedhave been the last step in an operation coordinated by agents of group IV of the Units Against Immigration and Counterfeiting Networks (UCRIF) of the Immigration Brigade of the National Police.
After the arrests, the investigators have also searched the headquarters of the sports institution, from where key documentation has been extracted to continue the investigation. Thus, according to internal sources have indicated to Europa Press, there could be new arrests in the coming days.
The Police classifies the facts revealed as crimes of belonging to a criminal group, favoring irregular immigrationunfair administration, misappropriation, corruption between individuals, usurpation of civil status, professional intrusion, documentary falsification, fraud, coercion, threats and electoral fraud.
