The Port of Seville begins the cruise season with Azamara Cruises

The Seville Port Authority (spain) the cruise season has begun with the arrival of the ship ‘Azamara Journey’, belonging to the shipping company Azamara Cruises. The high-end cruise ship, which has arrived this Monday, March 27 at the Delicias Pier, has brought 399 crew members and 651 passengers on board.

Specifically, the ship is 181 meters long and 25 meters wide, and will spend two nights in Seville, then on Wednesday, March 29, it will depart for Gibraltar. It is expected that in the next few days, the Sevillian enclave will receive the cruise ships ‘Azamara Onwa’, which has its first call reserved for March 31, and the ship ‘Corinthian’, which will arrive on April 1.

However, the Port Authority expects another three calls at Easter. One corresponds to the cruise ship ‘Sirena’, and the other two to the aforementioned ships ‘Azamara Onwa’ and ‘Corinthian’, which are visiting the facilities again.

Regarding the well-known week of the Fair, the Port Authority has received docking requests from the cruise ships ‘SilverWind’, ‘World Traveller’ and again, the ship ‘Corinthian’. In total, the Port of Seville has received some 44 requests for cruise calls for this 2023, in addition to the regular calls of the ‘Belle de Cadix’. The cruise traffic forecast is about 80 calls in total.

On the other hand, Merlin Properties expects to inject more than six million euros in different actions in the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) of the Port of Seville throughout this year. Specifically, the company will allocate four million euros to the expansion of the cold pole and the construction of new warehouses.
