The perfect shot from Ugo Coussaud, winner of his first Challenge Tour tournament in India!

Author of a last error-free map, Ugo Coussaud clinched his first career victory on the Challenge Tour, further confirming his excellent start to the season. He took the opportunity to settle at the top of the order of merit!

N.C.

As expected, the suspense was there in Bangalore. It must be said that the leader after three laps, Lars van Meijelhelped his opponents by starting his day with two consecutive bogeys, thus canceling his two-stroke lead over his first competitors.

Procrastination which benefited Frederic Lacroix et Ugo Coussaud, who started respectively three and four strokes behind the Dutchman. It was finally Ugo Coussaud who went for the victory on the course of the Karnataka Golf Association. The Angoumoisin made no mistake in this fourth round, better still, he recorded five birdies, including two decisive ones on 16 and 17 to seize the lead and never let go!

His 67 (-5) allowed him to “quietly” follow the end of the leaders’ games at the end of the 3rd round and to prepare for a possible play-off.

Never joined, he finally wins one step ahead of the Spaniard Manuel Elvira author of a nice comeback with his 66 (-6) and on the Swiss Joel Girrbach.

En tête de la Road to Mallorca

This success crowns an already excellent start to the season. Author of four top 20s during the tour in South Africa, including a second place in the Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Openthe player of the Team ST Laurent whom we had met during the break had done almost as well last weekend on the same track with a 21st place.

Thanks to this long-awaited first career title, Ugo Coussaud thus takes the reins of the general classification. After the first six tournaments, he seems on the right track to climb on the DP World Tour at the end of the season.

Frederic Lacroix 4th

Frederic Lacroix believed it. The Parisian had crossed the first leg with three birdies in his pocket but stalled on the return. Held back by two bogeys on the return, he could not do better than a 70 (-2) card, his worst of the week. The one who had recorded three victories over theAlps Tour in 2019 still ranks fourth, two lengths behind his compatriot.

Mathieu Decottignies-Lafon in the top 15

Also note the pretty “perf” of Mathieu Decottignies-Lafon (11th). The Lille resident offered himself a great last day to conclude this series of two stages in India on a high note. The Northerner signed a 68 (-4) marred by a double at 16. After four cards under par, he earned his best result since his third place at Vaudreuil in July 2022.

Clement Berardo (-11, 23rd) follows at the gates of the top 20. In the top 15 before the last lap, Robin Roussel (-9, 35th) and Tom Vaillant (-8, 37th) fell this Friday. Benjamin Hebert (-8, 42nd) and Felix Mory (par, 61st) also passed the cut.
