On the other hand, a collective imagination that goes beyond the simple sporting event is linked to baseball: cinema has made it an icon of the “American style” with films such as “Field of Dreams” or more simply with now traditional scenes of father and son playing with ball and glove in the garden.

A long bond with Hollywood: the first short film Take Me Out to the Ball Game dates back to 1910. After all, who doesn’t know the New York Yankees. It is one of the most famous, prestigious and coveted sports brands in the world. Just the New York team received, and evidently refused, an offer of 22 million dollars from a sponsor. Not without some controversy on the part of the players, the new rules that reduce waiting times are starting: times limited to the players and slightly larger bases to streamline the game and favor the attacking one. There will also be space for a competition in Europe, in London, to promote baseball in the old continent as well. Finally, as a tradition, all US teams will take the field together on July 4, singing the national anthem in unison, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
