The Argentine Seniors Championship is underway

Río Cuarto GC is already experiencing a new edition of the Argentine Seniors Championship once again and tomorrow, Friday, will be the time for the first round (See Schedules). It was a busy Thursday at the Cordovan club, since the official presentation of the contest was held in the morning at the traditional press conference held in the main hall with the presence of Mauricio Molina, defending champion.

Also part of the presentation were Horacio Carbonetti, tournament alma matter and top winner, Miguel Leeson, Executive Director of the AAG, Santiago Pauls, President of the RCGC; Martín Herrera, Undersecretary of Sports of Río Cuarto, and Mariano Marchioni, President of the PGA Argentina.

The team made up of the professional César Monasterio and the amateurs Sergio Belgoff, Juan Pedro Navarro and Ghunter Hoffman won the Pro AM Armando Carbonetti Memorial Tournament. Second place went to the team made up of the professional Roberto Coceres and the amateurs Marcelo Ferrari, Pablo Gramajo and Aldo Leguizamón. César Monasterio from Tucumán achieved the best individual score among professional players with 68 hits. positions here.

The two initial editions were won by Roberto De Vicenzo in 1987 and 1988, while the top winner of the contest is Horacio Carbonetti with six wins. It is worth noting that the championship has been played permanently at Río Cuarto GC since 2013, when it was won by Eduardo Romero.
