St. Pölten’s Joker bend FC Liefering

The SKN St. Pölten remains the leader of the table after the 20th round of the Admiral 2nd League. The Lower Austrians beat FC Liefering 2-0 at home.

In a balanced game, Jaden Montnor misses the first opportunity with a good header in the eighth minute, but FC Liefering also pose a threat again and again, for example with a remarkable heel shot by Bryan Okoh.

Joker decide

It is then up to a joker to break the spell. Substitute Ulysses Llanez, who came on four minutes earlier, hits the corner with a low shot from the edge of the box in the 60th minute. Liefering keeper Jonas Krumrey does not cut a good figure. It is the American’s fourth goal of the season, all of which he scored as a substitute.

SKN got lucky in the 67th minute: After David Riegler fouled Lawrence Agyekum, Karim Konate shot the penalty over the goal.

In the 76th minute, Luis Hartwig was another joker that made the decision. The German successfully completes a counterattack after an unselfish pass from Montnor to score his ninth goal of the season.

This put an end to the successful run of the “Young Bulls”, who recently celebrated four victories in a row. St. Pölten have won seven of their last eight games.
