South Africans at the forefront. Julien Brun already in ambush

One could be the other’s son. Martin Vorster21 years old, member of the Sunshine Tour and who took part in the first four tournaments at the start of the season on the Challenge Tour organized in South Africa, throne at the head of the Jonsson Workwear Open. His card of 64 (-8) without error but studded with an eagle and six birdies allows him to join his compatriot and veteran, Darren Fichardt47 years old, five times victorious on the DP World Tour between… 2001 and 2017 (including once in France, St-Omer and 2012).

The 100% local duo have a small head start on another Irish-sounding South African golfer, Hennie O’Kennedyon German Nick Bachem and on the very experienced Swedish Joakim Lagergren et Sebastian Soderberg.

On the upswing since his return to competition in Kenya a fortnight ago after three weeks of rest, Julian Brown confirms its very good momentum. The Antibois domiciled in Prague (Czech Republic) thus launched its week in the chic suburbs of Johannesburg with a solid 67 (-5). He is in 15th place, three lengths behind the leaders.

Good start also for Romain Langasque who had not crossed the cut a week ago at SDC Championship. The Azurean signs a good 68 (-4) which places him in 29th place in the company of Robin Sciot-Siegrist and of Jeong Weon Ko. In a virtual cut set at -3, we find further Clement Sordet (50e).
