There was no getting around the slopestyle world champions Birk Ruud and Mathilde Gremaud at the World Cup in Tignes.

Ruud secured his fifth World Cup victory this winter in France on Saturday (03/18/2023). The 22-year-old Norwegian scored 96 points in both of his final runs over the six obstacles, putting himself ahead of Sweden’s Jesper Tjäder (94 points) and former world champion Andri Ragettli (92.50). The Swiss had won the qualification the day before.

Ruud thus also extended his lead in the overall standings. Before the World Cup final next week in Silvaplana (Switzerland), the Norwegian now leads Ragettli by 60 points. From a German point of view, only Hannes Baumhöfener was there in Tignes. The only 16-year-old had no chance in qualifying.

First World Cup victory for Gremaud

World champion and Olympic champion Mathilde Gremaud celebrated her first World Cup victory this winter. The Swiss scored 96.25 points after two runs and just relegated the already established overall World Cup winner Johanne Killi from Norway (95.25 points) to second place. Megan Oldham (90) finished third, well behind.
