In the haven between seasons it seems that everything is calm, however, there are things that are moving in an extremely active and competitive way. Last week in Indianapolis the famous process of Scouting Combine which consists of a series of tests carried out on more than 300 candidates who will be selected this year in the Draft.
These challenges consist of a combination of medical evaluations, interviews and physical tests on the field in front of coaches, managers and scouts of NFL teams, who take note of the results hoping to shed more light on the physical condition and athletic abilities of these guys wanting to recruit them between April 27 and 29, when the Draft will be in Kansas City.
Although the speed, jump and other tests can reveal a lot about the condition and strength of these boys, the truth is that for many analysts and specialists this is a show to attract attention and generate some dollars for the broadcasts of tv, since in general it has not turned out to be a real benchmark of the success that these newbies can have in the professional field.
Another situation is that there are many players who were not invited, which is why it seems to be a select club that receives a lot of criticism for leaving out players from small teams, marginalizing them from the spotlight and leaving them far from the possibility of being selected.
But in the end, it’s part of the showmany people love to take note of the results of the Combine and get their hopes up about the players who could make it in the NFL based on those results, however, there are many former players who are critical of this spectacle.
