Rubiales charges against Tebas: “Manipulate, I’m not comfortable for him”

Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish Football Federation, took advantage of the ‘Traveling with Chester’ program to charge hard against Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga. The federation leader accuses the employer boss of being behind a constant attack against him that has forced him to go to court. “I am going to start denouncing issues that I think are done wrong,” Rubiales began, who, referring to Tebas, points out that “I am not comfortable for him” and accuses him of “manipulating” every time he refers to the management of the RFEF. “I am never going to sit down and talk to someone who lies and hurts me to get me out of the place where I am,” explained the president of the Federation. “Everyone who knows me knows my honesty and that the management is very neat,” says Rubiales, he has not bitten his tongue. Sitting comfortably in Mejide’s chester, in the Motril countryside, he has not hesitated to accuse Thebes of spending “30 million euros on advertising for the media so that they constantly attack me with false news.” And he assures: “The media are at the service of the powerful because we are annoying, before they had the Copa del Rey and now we have democratized it.” The president of the RFEF has compared himself to Sandro Rosell, who was imprisoned for two years while being innocent, because he feels persecuted, and he is moved when he explains that “it has taken years of his life, he and his wife, they broke it up.” Risto Mejide did not ignore the Negreira case and Rubiales did not evade the issue. “It seems tremendous to us that there is a person, whether he is an active referee or not, in a body that receives money from a club”, and he has dropped how curious it seems to him that this news has appeared in which LaLiga was being criticized. “It seems that it is being used to cover other news.” And he details it: “It is normal that there are former referees who make reports or companies that make them, but it is strange that this comes out at a time when it is said how bad Laliga is compared to the Premier …”. The president of the Federation did not want to delve into other thorny issues, such as the accusation of Dani Alves for alleged rape. Although he wanted to make it clear that “there have been cases where someone’s innocence has been proven and they have been crushed”, he has also pointed out that “I do not like to be anyone’s judge, I trust justice and it has to fall with all the weight ». However, he has repudiated any act of this type: «We are in a country where the law has to fall resoundingly whoever you are, whether you are a footballer or something else. There is a Penal Code that has to be complied with.” There have been more issues in which Mejide has squeezed Rubiales and has required more determination when it comes to positioning himself. He has reminded her of the embarrassing and recent episode of the women’s Spanish Super Cup, won by Barcelona and in which the champions had to collect the medals themselves while all the federation representatives were in the box. “It was a tremendous mess, at the image level it was disastrous,” acknowledged the leader, who believes that they should have acted differently and more at a time when they are fighting to achieve a certain equality between men’s soccer and the feminine. “When I saw it I said, this is fatal, they are going to kill us,” he admitted.
