Ribero judo takes fifteen medals in the Navarro Juniors Championship

The Navarro Alevín Judo Championship of the XXXVI Sports Games of Navarra (JDN) leaves a good taste in the mouths of the two riverside teams that participated in the second and final phase that took place on Saturday, March 18 at the Trinquete de Mendillorri Sports Center. The total of fifteen medals, ten from the Ribera Navarra Judo Club and five from Shogun Judo, highlight the good health of this sport in the area.

The competition had the participation of 165 judokas belonging to different Navarrese clubs.

On behalf of Ribera Navarra, 26 judokas attended, many of whom managed to be among the best in Navarra. The club’s women won three gold, two silver and three bronze medals, making them, without a doubt, Navarra team champions.

The gold medals went to Daniela Urru in less than -52 kg, Leire Oruezábal -47 kg and Nara López -42 kg, who won all their bouts by maximum score. The silver medals were obtained by Leire Cortijo in -47 kg, who also won all her fights, except for the final, which she lost against her clubmate, Leire Oruezábal, and Carolina Pérez in -34 kg, who also won several fights until the final. .

The bronze medals were obtained by Vega Lizaso in less than 30 kg, Dasha Mulyk in -34 kg, Ainhoa ​​Ortega in -47 kg. Naroa Villaverde and in +52 kg and Laura Romo in -30 kg disputed the bronze after hard fights, but it could not be.

In the men’s category, Rubén Machado stood out at +52 kg and Alai Hernández at -47 kg, who achieved bronze by performing a brilliant competition, scoring several ippons against their opponents.

The other members of Ribera Navarra were Cloe Zorrilla, Paula Lasanta, Paula Maza, Enoa Habib, Lucía Aguirre, Gaël Val, Ander Arriero, Alex Ramírez, Cesar Jiménez, Luis García, Héctor Lapeña, Víctor Yera and Álvaro Cepeda, who despite play a great role in the championship, they were left without getting on the podium.

Judo Shogun gets noticed

A total of fifteen judokas were from the Shogun de Tudela team to participate in said event after a humble beginning in the first phase. The first metals came from the hand of Jose Tello with the bronze medal in the -42 kg category, followed by the cascantina judokas; Patricia M. Vera won the bronze medal, Ikrane Chabik the silver, and bronze for Alba López and Natalia Mendoza.

Fifth place, and no less deserved after having a league of 24 judokas, and five complicated fights each, went to Dani Martínez and Joel Martínez de Fitero. Also highlight the work of Alberto Gorrindo who brought out all his courage and know-how in the competition area.

The rest of the team; Alejandro Duarte, Miguel Pérez, Adrián Sanz, Asier Lamata, Alonso Aliaga, Marcos Barea and Eva Fernández in this last phase surpassed themselves and rose in sporting and competitive level even without reaching the podium.

Next week, the Children’s and Cadet teams will also have their JDN final and they hope to be able to classify five judokas for the national finals to be held at the Gallur Sports Center in Madrid at the end of April.

Shogun’s preparatory day

On Wednesday, March 15, a small judo team in the Cadet and Junior category of the Sensei de Zaragoza club made up of five judokas traveled to the riverside town. The objective, to carry out a preparatory training for the final in these categories by the hand of his Master Ruben (Sixth Dan) together with Master Félix Pastor.

Multiple combats were carried out, both standing and on the ground, in a magnificent sports environment.

On Saturday, March 18, the Trinquete Mendillorri Sports Center in Pamplona hosted the second and final day of the XXXVI Judo Sports Games of Navarra, Alevín category.
