Ice dance champions Jennifer Janse van Rensburg and Benjamin Steffan qualified for the freestyle finals with a lively rhythm dance.

The people of Oberstdorf took 15th place in the intermediate classification at the world title fights in Saitama, Japan. “We are very happy that we got through our program well and that we have already achieved our greatest goal by reaching the final. Now we also demand a clean freestyle from ourselves.”said Stefan.

Last year, the ice dance couple had to give up a start at the world championships for a short time due to a corona infection.

US couple leads

In the absence of Olympic and defending champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron of France, who have officially taken a break from competition, last year’s World Championship bronze medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the USA took the lead.

Second are Italian European champions Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri, followed by Canada’s Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier
