Contrary to what many might believe, the Commissioner of Professional Baseball of the Dominican Republic it does not manage “economic resources”.
The revelation was made by the commissioner himself, Junior Noboa, who explained that the multiple projects implemented by the office under his responsibility are carried out with the support of various national and international institutions, such as the MLB (Major League Baseball or the Major League Baseball) and universities of USA.
“An example of this is 120 scholarships that universities in the United States awarded us so that our players can practice baseball and have a professional (university) career,” he said.
He recalled that currently, the Commissioner’s office is implementing a baseball field repair program in different communities of the country, with the support of the MLB.
“We have already rehabilitated several, others are in the process and we also have an agenda,” added Noboa during his participation in the “Dialogue with Athletes” of the newspaper HOY, under the direction of Franklin Mirabal and the participation of journalists José Cáceres, Primitivo Cadete, Gustavo Rodríguez, as well as the sports editors of Telesistema, José Alberto Acosta and of Teleantillas, César Marchena.
He maintained that he is pleased with the results of the work being carried out by the office he directs and added that the work in conjunction with the Dominican Professional Baseball League (Lidom) and the teams that make it up, such as Licey Tigers, Cibaeñas Eagles, Chosen Lions, Cibao Giants, Eastern Bulls y Eastern Stars.
He also highlighted the good relations with the Dominican Baseball Federation.
“Since we arrived, we have all been working together in favor of baseball in the Dominican Republic,” he said.
