Purge in Boleslav! Nine hockey players, including goalie Krošelje, finish

Krošelj ends after five seasons, during which he was among the key supports. The club also said goodbye to Finnish full-back Alex Lintuniemi, a member of the wider national team Pýcha and another full-back David Štich.

Latvians Maris Bičevskis, Ondřej Najman, Šťastný, Kelly Klíma or Daniel Přibyl no longer fit into Bruslař’s plans from the offensive ranks. Klíma and Příbyl were at the club on loan until the end of the season, the first from Hradec Králové, the second from Sparta.

“It is clear to me that some names in particular will cause great sadness in the fans. Gašpi (Krošelj) and Šťáva (Šťastný) were in Mladá Boleslav for five years, Ondra Najman even six. Alex was with us for less than two seasons, but we know that he the fans fell in love,” said the club’s sports director Martin Ševc. “Unfortunately, that’s how hockey life is,” added Ševc.

Already on Thursday, Bruslari announced that the current head coach Jiří Kalous, whom the club hired on January 12 after Ladislav Čihák was dismissed, will lead the team in the next season as well. The experienced coach was trusted despite the fact that Mladoboleslav did not follow up on the semi-final participation from the previous two years and were already eliminated in the preliminary round against Kometa Brno.
