Protest for the situation of grassroots cycling, at 12:00 in the Plaza Unzaga in Eibar

The Eibarrés Cycling Club has organized a protest for this noon at 12:00 p.m. in the Plaza Unzaga in the town of Armera to denounce the situation experienced by grassroots cycling in Gipuzkoa due to the difficulties in carrying out the races due to the insurance they require the motolinks. The problem continues despite the fact that negotiations and dialogue with the Basque Government, Provincial Council and different insurance firms have intensified in recent days.

The Federation has also made an appeal to join the protest. “While the complicated situation arising from the safety of cycling races in Gipuzkoa is resolved and after the cancellation this weekend of the Beasain cadet and junior races in Eibar, this Gipuzkoan Cycling Federation joins the protest concentration convened by the Eibarrés Cycling Club”, expressed the note from the entity chaired by Santi Osoro. “An appeal is made to the entire cycling family to attend it, and that we all united ask the authorities to guarantee the safety of cyclists and cycling races, putting the necessary means to do so.” There will be car parks set up for the event with a limit until 2:00 p.m., duly signposted.
