The Occitanie regional youth badminton championship took place on March 18, in Manduel, in the Gard. Five players from the Lot selection and licensed at the Pradines club made the trip, with coach Baptiste Dajean. They are Anna Boumbaly and Laura Prévost as a chick, Timéo Maruaé as the youngest, Lison Dajean as a minim and Lucile Reynes as a youngest. The big performance is to be noted on the side of the chicks and in particular Anna who won two titles: a gold medal in mixed doubles with a partner from Aude, Liam Lete, and gold in women’s doubles with her club friend Laura . In singles, Laura made it to the final, while Anna came up against the champion in the semi-finals and won the bronze medal. It is therefore with two titles in hand and five medals that the chicks returned to Cahors on Sunday evening.
Lucile won two bronze medals: in women’s singles and in women’s doubles. Unfortunately her usual partner was absent during this championship and Lucile could not properly defend her chances. Lison and Timéo leave empty-handed without having failed all weekend.
The seniors were in competition at Marvejols, in Lozère, on Sunday March 19. The regional team played the last day of the regional interclubs. The team ensured by achieving a draw, 4 to 4 against Albi on Sunday morning and winning 7 to 1 against Lisle-sur-Tarn in the afternoon. The team, largely first, is guaranteed to participate in the play-off for the climb and thus ensured its leading position. The team was made up of Fiona Préchac, Fanny Vogelweith, Maya Kieffer-Lacombe, Léo Préchac, Raphaël Rosales and Louan Dajean. See you in mid-April for the regional play-off and the possible move up to the top division.
