Pedro Proença highlights the increase in Game Time at the opening of the ANTF Forum

President of Liga Portugal praised the partnership with ANTF and the decisive role of Coaches in improving Portuguese Football

The President of Liga Portugal, Pedro Proença, spoke this morning at the opening of the Coaches’ Forum, organized by the National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF), which takes place at the Viana do Castelo Cultural Centre, in a meeting that was attended by Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Correia, the vice-president of the Portuguese Football Federation, José Couceiro, the President of the Football Association of Viana do Castelo, Jorge Sárria, among other personalities of Portuguese football, in addition to the hundreds of technicians registered in the Forum.

In addition to the thanks and congratulations, Pedro Proença’s speech praised the role of coaches in improving Game Time in Professional Football.

“We are lucky, in Professional Football, to have elite professionals and I am grateful for the collaboration they have shown with Liga Portugal. 2022-23. The way in which the Coaches welcomed this idea and contributed to the increase in Playing Time was a demonstration of responsibility on the part of the class. We are on the right path and we have to thank the Coaches for responding to this challenge, and for the sharing experience with Liga Portugal in the Coaches’ Forums”, said the President of Liga Portugal, recalling the presence of several coaches at the 1st edition of the Thinking Football Summit, organized by Liga Portugal in November last year.

“We organized the first edition of the Thinking Football Summit and we have to thank the ANTF for its collaboration. It was a pleasure to see so many coaches at the event, some on stage, others in the audience. also, to celebrate our Talent. That’s why we honored one of the greatest figures in our industry: José Mourinho”, he recalled, inviting those present to be present at the 2nd edition of the event, which takes place on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September, adding that he considers “it is a pride to constitute a common jury, which brings together the four social partners (ANTF, SJ and APAF) for the attribution of the Thinking Football Summit Awards, the awards that distinguish the best professionals in our area”.

The President of Liga Portugal also highlighted the Social Dialogue Commission, which includes Liga Portugal, ANTF, the Portuguese Association of Football Referees (APAF) and the Union of Players, and the work developed with ANTF, as a partner. “Our relationship with ANTF is solid and of complete institutional collaboration. We are part of the Social Dialogue Commission and we have always found in ANTF a responsible partner in the development of Portuguese Football”, added Pedro Proença.

Finally, the President of Liga Portugal highlighted the Coaches’ Forum as a noble space for “reflection and discussion of our industry”. “A better product requires articulation between all agents and the contribution of all”, he added.
