ÖSV women go away empty-handed at the Östersund start

At the start of the penultimate World Cup weekend in Östersund, Dorothea Wierer won the 15 km individual competition. The Italian finished 25.5 seconds ahead of her compatriot Lisa Vitozzi, both shooting clean. Third place went to the German sprint world champion Denise Herrmann-Wick (+1:38.8/1). Vittozzi also secured the small crystal globe in the individual discipline rating.

Austria’s starters, on the other hand, went away empty-handed: Dunja Zdouc (+3:25.6) was the best ÖSV athlete in 18th, who also remained flawless. Tamara Steiner finished 21st, 3:34.6 minutes behind and with one missed shot. Anna Juppe missed the target three times and finished 36th (+5:01.3). The race did not go according to plan for Lisa Hauser (5:28.0/5) and Anna Gandler (6:08.0/4), who finished 46th and 59th.
