Murray, on Alcaraz: “As long as he wants to play, he will be at the top”

Yesterday was not a good day for Andy Murray eliminated in the first round of the Miami Open 2023 against Dusan Lajovic. The Briton acknowledged at a press conference that his mobility on the track had failed him, in addition to suffering the change in conditions compared to Indian Wells. What he did not get rid of was the question about Carlos Alcaraz and his return to No. 1 in the world, although the Scotsman always has good words for the player from El Palmar.

“He has an excellent game, very complete, I think he will adapt well to all surfaces. He is not the biggest guy, but he can serve big, as an athlete he has an incredible motor, as well as a lot of variety. I know from experience that with his age it’s easier to play that way, hopefully he’ll keep that style because it’s very exciting to watch. As long as he wants to play, he’ll be at the top,” said the Dunblane player.
