Motorcycle World Cup | Follow the Moto2 2023 race in Portimao live

Filip Salac (Kalex) has taken pole position for the Moto2 race of the Portuguese Grand Prix, the first round of the Motorcycle World Championship, ahead of the Spanish Arón Canet (Kalex) and Pedro Acosta (Kalex).

In the intermediate category, Salac, at the wheel of Acosta, set a best time of 1:42.323 that allowed him to surpass Canet by 58 thousandths to take the first starting position of the course. The Murcian will complete the first starting row.

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve offered an almost perfect Q2 for the Spaniards, who slipped into seven of the top ten positions of the ‘Top 10’. Manu González (Kalex) will start fifth, ahead of Jeremy Alcoba (Kalex) who went through Q1 and Albert Arenas (Kalex), sixth and seventh respectively.
