Miggy received the keys to the city Lakeland

The Aragüeño Miguel Cabrera received the keys to the city of Lakeland on Sunday before his final meeting of Spring Training prior to beginning his twenty-first and last season in the Major Leagues.

Miggy has become one of the main attractions of preseason games, due to his successful career in the Majors.

People have taken the opportunity to ask for his autograph, take a picture with him and honor him, as happened in Lakeland, a city located in Polk County in the state of Florida, whose highest authorities handed over the keys in recognition of one of the most productive players in the last two decades in MLB.

For the maracayero, who turns 40 on April 18, it represents the beginning of a series of tributes prepared by the Detroit Tigers and Major League Baseball to honor one of the best Latin American players who have played in the big tent.

“The only thing I want is for the team to win more games and qualify for the playoffs,” Cabrera told Espn during the event.
