Without a fixed address in 2024, will the Blues of Didier Deschamps play at the Vélodrome?

Between the Rugby World Cup and the works at the Stade de France, the Blues of football will be without a fixed address in 2024. The FFF therefore launched a consultation last week, as reported The Team , in order to survey clubs and elected officials. One thing is certain: the “federation” has at least one candidate in Marseille. “Marseille, capital of football! We are ready and a candidate city to welcome the French team to the Vélodrome stadium during the works of the Stade de France in 2024!“says the mayor of Marseille Benoît Payan. Note that the “3F” will have a number of requirements to accommodate the Blues, at the contractual level, but also in terms of capacity, with stadiums of at least 25,000 seats. For the Vélodrome and its 67,000 seats, this is obviously not a problem.

Remember that the players of Didier Deschamps will face Greece in Saint-Denis on June 19 as part of the qualifications for Euro 2024. The last match at the Stade de France before a while. They will indeed challenge Ireland on September 7, the day before the clash between the XV of France and New Zealand at the World Cup. Then, the vice-world champions have an appointment with Gibraltar on November 18, not counting the preparation matches for Euro 2024… in the event of qualification. The windows are already known: March and June 2024. Still according to information from L’Équipe, applications are open until April 12. Marseille did not wait.
