many activities at the Salon des Saveurs

What could be better than going to the Salon des Saveurs to celebrate the arrival of spring? If you want to be amazed and lick your chops, no doubt, this is where you have to be on March 25 and 26. The tourist office, which organizes the event, intends to put the small dishes in the big ones like every year. On the entertainment side, it’s clear, you won’t get bored. And there will be something for everyone. The group The Mamys & The Papys will open the ball on Saturday at 12 p.m., just after the inauguration, the appointment of which is set for 10:30 a.m. The group CaberFeidh Pipe Band will then perform around 4 p.m.

The MusVerre will be there again this year. “They will be demonstrating torch beading”, explains Bernard Burlion, the president of the tourist office. The union will also present a photo exhibition called Aulnoye-Aymeries from 1953 to today. Les Vergers Tellier, always faithful to the post, will produce apple juice as usual. On the side of the tourism pole, two activities will be offered. The first, provided by the Maubeuge zoo, will be devoted to animal footprints. The second, provided this time by the Musée de la Boisellerie de Felleries, will offer demonstrations of turning with a pole tower dating from the 17e century. The firm space will be set up again. Visitors will find Gaétan’s mini-farm, a farrier’s workshop, draft horses (Trait du Nord breed). And that’s not all. Toddlers can have fun in the children’s area where a free wooden merry-go-round will be set up. “The fishing company will host a stand with a fishing simulator”, continues Bernard Burlion. Children can also try their hand at classic duck fishing. Initiations to archery and crossbow shooting will be possible in this same children’s area. In the outdoor space, the Jeanne-d’Arc Institution will hold a make-up workshop. Finally, note that STIBUS will give away a packed basket on Saturday and one on Sunday. To play, go to the stand to collect a questionnaire.
