Majorca – Osasuna | A Mallorca that finished with 10 and a conservative Osasuna sign a tie

Mallorca and Osasuna ended the match that opened the twenty-seventh day of the LaLiga qualifying match in Son Moix with a goalless draw, a more favorable result for the vermilions, which they played from minute 70 with ten players in the field due to the expulsion of the center-back José Copete.

The tables do not clear up the doubts of both teams in the championship. Mallorca chains the third game in their stadium without winning and has only added two points out of nine at stake; the Navarrese team, for its part, links the fourth day without knowing the victory.

The victories of the Mallorcan players against rivals such as Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal, among other teams, in Palma seem very distant.

The magic that the Mexican Javier Aguirre’s team exhibited at home is, today, a beautiful memory and each day that passes his situation in the table becomes more complicated.

The vermillions of ‘Vasco’, who was not on the bench after serving a one-match suspension due to the accumulation of warnings -he was replaced by his assistant, Toni Amor- had the best chances to open the scoring in the first half.

Pablo Maffeo and Vedat Muriqi tried, with the invaluable help of Kang In Lee, but they failed to finish.

The Navarrese team reacted after a few first minutes of doubts, and although it hardly worried the goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic, managed to neutralize the local attack without major setbacks. There were many untimely tackles and Díaz de Mera showed four yellow cards, three to the locals Babá, Ruiz de Galarreta and Gío González, and one to the visitor Nacho Vidal.

Mallorca clearly dominated in the first minutes, pressing in all sectors of the pitch, but they lacked clarity to transfer that initial superiority to the scoreboard. Osasuna, for its part, noted the loss of important players. The Croatian and goalscorer Ante Budimir, a former Majorcan player, went unnoticed, well controlled by the Vermilion defense.

The second part began with the actions as locked as in the first. The Mallorcan fans could not find the formula to open spaces in the closed defense of the Navarrese.

In minute 67 Arrasate moved the bench and Moi Gómez, Jon Moncayola and shortly after Abde entered, three indisputable headlines, who took the field with the aim of reactivating Osasuna’s game. Shortly after, Mallorca was left in numerical inferiority due to the expulsion with Direct red card of the center-back José Copete for holding Rubén García when he left alone in front of the goal.

The objective of the three points for Aguirre’s team was different after the departure of Copete. A striker, Tino Kadewere, and a centre-back, Matija Nastasic, came on for Muriqi and Lee, to defend the tie, which, given the circumstances, was a good result.

The party grew in tension and the public protested each and every one of the decisions of Diaz de Mera. In the end, the marker did not move.

Mallorca, who added their sixth draw of the season, fourth at Son Moix, defended the tie with a goalkeeper, Rajkovic, decisive to avoid defeatagainst an Osasuna that had to settle for a draw.
