Thanks to a 1-0 away win at TSV Hartberg, the Mader-Elf is at least temporarily in first place in the qualifying group.

Already on Friday evening the qualifying group in the Admiral Bundesliga started for Lustenauer Austria. In the end, the stickers secured three important points.

Coach Markus Mader sent exactly the same starting line-up in East Styria as in the 4-2 win against Austria Klagenfurt before the international break.

Grujcic scores from a free kick

At the beginning the teams largely neutralized each other, the lead for the guests from Vorarlberg should come from a standard situation. Defender Grujcic sunk a direct free kick via the inside rod to make it 1-0 from the Green-Whites’ point of view. Overall, the Lustenau made the better and more mellow impression in these first 45 minutes and so the break lead was deserved.

Shortly after the restart, luck was also on the side of Lustenauer and twice as much. First, Providence was brought down in the penalty area, the referee allowed play to continue and the VAR did not intervene in this at least controversial scene. Just a few seconds later, Providence used fellow player Avdijaj, who narrowly missed the equaliser.

Things then calmed down a bit before the Styrians increased the pressure again in the final phase. Eleven minutes from time, substitute Tadic and again Avdijaj missed great opportunities to make it 1-1.

In the end, Lustenauer Austria brought the narrow lead over time and, in addition to the perfect start, can also celebrate first place in the qualifying group at least in the meantime.
