FC Bayern confirms separation of Nagelsmann and Tuchel obligation

FC Bayern Munich has now confirmed the separation from coach Julian Nagelsmann. As the German record champions also announced, Thomas Tuchel will succeed him.

The world-class coach arrived at the Munich stadium at 10.50am in the back seat of an Audi. Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic had arrived on the site six minutes earlier.

Leon Goretzka reacted to Nagelsmann’s release with emotional farewell words. “Thank you very much for the cooperation. A collaboration that was always characterized by trust, fun and mutual respect. You are a great person and coach, whom we all wish the very best,” wrote the Munich midfielder.

Goretzka continues: “It is now up to us to successfully complete your work. Thanks for everything!” The 28-year-old also published a picture that shows him and his former coach immediately before a hug on the pitch.

Nagelsmann remains an “outstanding coach” despite his early retirement as a Munich coach, said the 58-year-old Flick. The Bayern players in the national soccer team were “very surprised” by the news, just like him.

DFB sports director Rudi Völler (62) welcomes the fact that FC Bayern is relying on Tuchel as Nagelsmann’s successor. The 49-year-old Tuchel is a “top alternative,” said Völler.
