LaLiga denounces racist insults to Vinicius for the seventh time

LaLiga has sent a complaint to the Investigating Courts of Seville for racist insults against Real Madrid striker Vinicius Júnior in the match between the merengue team and Real Betis on matchday 24 of the First Division, according to a statement. “He is the victim and it is a problem of Spanish football,” Carlo Ancelotti, Madrid coach, recently said about the footballer after he was considered a provocateur in an attempt to justify the verbal attacks received.

It is the seventh complaint that LaLiga presents for insults or songs of this nature to Vinicius. Three of them have been archived by the Prosecutor’s Office and the other three are still in progress in the courts. To speed up the identification of those responsible for these acts, the employer reports that it has set up a complaints channel on its website, in which “fans who may have images or some indication of the identity” of those who uttered such insults “can contact LaLiga and provide the necessary identification to file the pertinent complaints.

At the end of February, the Permanent Commission of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport filed a fine of 4,000 euros and a 12-month sanction for the man who shouted racist insults at the player in Mallorca. The fan, a member of the Balearic club, shouted “monkey” and repeated “Vinicius, you’re a monkey” on several occasions during the game that took place on February 5. It just so happens that this is the same individual who recently offended Samu Chukwueze in a Mallorca-Villarreal match.

At the beginning of February, Real Valladolid cautiously withdrew the subscription to 10 fans who used racist insults against the striker. The entity identified the fans and collaborated with the Police after Ronaldo, president of the club, denounced the case. The Brazilian Real Madrid player has received attacks of all kinds in recent times. In addition to the disqualifications in rival fields, several radicals from the Atlético Front hung a hanged doll with Vinicius’s shirt before the Copa del Rey match that faced Atlético de Madrid with the white team at the end of January.

Another of the complaints took place before the Investigative Courts of Pamplona by Osasuna-Real Madrid on February 18 in which the Brazilian was insulted: “Vinicius son of a bitch” and throughout the meeting and, on repeated occasions, resounded in El Sadar an unfortunate “Vinicius, die.”
