Julen Jon launches Amorebieta with his goals

That Julen Jon Guerrero is the spitting image of his father is obvious, but no less real. The young attacker reflects the gestures of his father both outside and on the pitch. The pose, the driving, the way of running… but also the way of scoring the goals. Two have already been scored by the young attacker on loan from Real Madrid to Amorebieta in this winter transfer window, demonstrating a quick adaptation to a style and a club very different from Valdebebas.

Goal runs through Julen Jon’s veins. He had already been demonstrating it with the white club and in the lower categories of the Spanish team, and now he is also doing it with those of Urritxe. It also so happens that his two goals have arrived in the same way: head-on from a free-kick. And both cases equally reveal the ability of the midfielder to join from the second row to find the free space for the shot. His slim figure (1.87 m.) It also helps, but that vision of the game also seems to have been inherited from his father, author of a multitude of goals with the same signature and execution at Athletic.

“We are very happy with him, he has had a very good entry into the team”, congratulates Asier Goiria, sports director of Amorebieta and the main architect of his signing for the blues. “We needed a profile like his in the last third, with that point of calm, goal, strategy… The kid is taking good steps, contributing what the coach asks for and what the team needs.”

Goiria also launches a protective message towards the player, aware of the commotion that everything related to him generates. «We have to have that point of patience because he is very young. He has a lot of quality, but he has to continue in that process of growth. This category is very demanding and Julen Jon has to follow his adaptation process. At the moment, he is on the road ».

Two goals and several very clear chances in just 160 minutes played with the blues is a good average for a diamond in the rough like Julen Jon. The first of these goals came a couple of days ago. After having played residual minutes against Numancia, Real Unión and Sabadell, Julen Jon came on at half-time in the clash played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff against Barça B, who were already leading the scoreboard. He enjoyed forty-five minutes and his performance gave Amorebieta’s game more bite, moving the leather well, facing, but also working on defense. The icing on the cake put it around the sixty minute mark. Toni Herrero served an indirect free kick from the right side towards the far post, where the tall figure of Julen Jon appeared, finding the gap between Pelayo and Casado to stick his head in, chip the ball and score the equalizer.

natural position

This past Sunday, in Amorebieta’s complicated visit to the Estadi Balear, Haritz Mujika gave Julen Jon his first start. He did it by placing him in his natural position, that of midfielder, behind Eneko Jauregi, and not leaning on the wing as he has played days ago. It is true that he did not have the opportunity to shine too much in a match in which the zornotzarras had a hard time having the ball during the first half against the push from the island. He had to run more after the ball than with it. But as soon as he could, he brought out his quality to score again. This time it was Josué Dorrio who hung up the free kick from the left wing. Again to the far post, knowing that the 28 of the blues would end up there. Julen Jon waited crouched. He saw the space and attacked the ball with skill to send it to the pot with his head.
