Irving has a major injury

Evils call other evils. As if the Dallas Mavericks hadn’t had enough of the acute crisis who suffer right at the decisive moment of the season -out of even the positions of ‘play-in’ with 8 games to play-, Kyrie Irving is not well. As Shams Charania revealed, the point guard suffers from plantar fasciitis in his right foot with which he has been dealing since March 8.

Since then, Irving has been lost until 4 of the last 7 matches who has played the whole of Texas. Since then, the Mavericks, perhaps not to cause more alarm than desired, have excused the point guard’s absences for “inconvenience”. Due to the impact of the area and the uncertainty about recovery times, plantar fasciitis is one of the most complex injuries and can last up to months, although each case is different.

In the case of Irving, Charania has stressed that it is not a simple injury whose status is updated day by day, but that Irving is playing with pain. The physical problem that the ‘2’ is suffering could largely explain the discreet performance from the former Nets in the loss against the Hornets, with only 18 points after 6/16 in field goals and a lousy 1/8 in triples.

In any case, and according to Charania, in Dallas they are happy with the competitiveness and the professionalism of Irving since his arrival. However, his serious injury could not come at a worse time, more than in need of help Luka Doncic at a time when the Slovenian has just come out of a muscle injury and in which she has even been seen sad as she had never been. The magnificent duo that has come together in the Mavericks is not working and presents a negative balance of 3-7.

The stomp of Dillon Brooks precisely on the right foot in Monday’s game against the Grizzlies would not have helped Irving either, who will force for the vital game this afternoon again against the Charlotte Hornets (19:00, peninsular time). Tim Hardaway Jr, with a non-Covid-19 disease is the only doubt in some Mavericks between a rock and a hard place.
