The big catch slipped away upright in the shoot. Latvia’s best biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs took 11th overall start (three mistakes in the shooting range) and 18th place (6) in the pursuit at the last, ninth, stage of the World Cup (WC) in Holmenkollen (Norway). The leader of the Latvian women’s national team, Baiba Bendika, remained in a modest 75th place in the 10-kilometer sprint with three penalty laps. PK season in biathlon is over. Norwegian Johannes Tingnes Bä convincingly won the men’s PK overall, while Frenchwoman Gillia Simone collected the most points in the women’s competition.

After the season’s highest place in the PK circuit, which was won on Thursday, reaching the fourth result in the 10-kilometer sprint, Andreja’s accuracy in the shooting range let him down in the next start. In the pursuit distance of 12.5 kilometers, the leader of the Latvian national team shot the first and last bullet past the targets in the first shooting from a prone position. Also, after the other three shooting times, penalty circles had to be measured, and with a total of six mistakes, Rastorgujev took 18th place. None of the top 30 had as many bullets fired “after milk”. Renārs Birkentāls also qualified for the pursuit race, who showed the 59th result in the sprint. With three penalty laps, Renard managed to overtake only the Czech Jonas Maracek (56th place) at the finish, as three biathletes did not go to the start.
