Asnawi Mangkualam decided not to fast on the day of the Indonesia vs Burundi match on Saturday (25/3/2023). This needs to be done for maximum performance.
As is known, the FIFA Match Day event between Indonesia vs Burundi will take place at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java, at 20.30 WIB. The match coincided with the moment of Ramadan.
Athletes who are Muslim are certainly required to fast. Indonesian national team player Asnawi Mangkualam is no exception.
“The preparation is of course very good. For now, we are fasting due to night training. Maybe in tomorrow’s match, we will not fast,” said Asnawi in his press conference at the Sultan Hotel, on Friday (24/3/2023).
“Because it is very important to take care of the body so that it can give the maximum match. Of course the body also needs a lot of energy in tomorrow’s match,” he said.
In this regard, Asnawi Mangkualam also said that he and his colleagues had prepared as best they could for tomorrow’s match. They are assisted by a team of analysts.
“Our team of analysts has provided an understanding of tomorrow’s tactics. We will play according to the coach’s scheme to give tomorrow’s match,” said Asnawi.
“Personally, I don’t have much experience meeting African players. But tomorrow’s match is of course very important because it is to catch up with the FIFA rankings. We have to give victory for tomorrow’s match,” he continued.
