Gandon 32e, Chikkarangappa S leader in India

Frenchman Jeremy Gandon is 32nd at -1 after returning a 72 (par) card. Author of 4 birdies (including 3 in a row) and 4 bogeys, the Valentinois passes the cut: “A day in par today, I feel like I played pretty well even a little more than yesterday when I had a lot of birdie opportunities. Unfortunately I have some that have not fallen. I’m happy to make the cut and have two more turns to make good cards. I made a pass where I made three birdies (13, 14, 15th holes) to take shelter because attacking my return I was still on the line of the cut. The course was quite similar compared to yesterday, I feel like the scores are maybe a bit better today, maybe the flag positions were a bit more accessible. »

In the lead, the local Chikkarangappa S is three strokes ahead of his pursuers. The one we call « Chikka » completed a faultless course by touching 18 greens in regulation. With a total of 6 birdies, the Indian is at -10: “Honestly, I’m not a fan of this golf course, but I learn to play every year. I putt very well, chatted with my caddy and hit the ball. »

Behind him, we can count in 2nd position at -7, the defending champion Nitithorn Thippong, the world n°82, Sadom Kaewkanjana, best player in the field, the locals Rashid Khan and Om Prakash Chouhan as well as the Briton Matt Killen.

The leader of the first round, Siddikur Rahman closes the top 10 of this second round in 7th position at -6 alongside the Filipino Justin Quiban and the Thais Poom Saksansin and Chonlatit Chuenboonngam. The 2nd best player in the field, Phachara Khongwatmai, n°184th in the world, narrowly passes the cut at -2 in 62nd position.
