This Saturday the Compostela pavilion of O Restollal hosted the trophy for the Santiago Spanish Championship, junior west sector. The Compostela judokas of the Compostela Judo Club put together a magnificent performance, with the achievement of a gold medal for Diego Salvado and two bronzes, for Noé González and Lucía Riveiro. In addition, Uxía Vázquez and Esther García each achieved seventh place, very meritorious, after a rather controversial referee’s decision in the case of Uxía. On this occasion, Lucas Santamaría failed to get past the first round, after winning for a good part of their confrontation. The championship had the participation of some 107 judokas, all of them classified in their respective autonomous communities, and 59 competing in the male category and 48 in the female category.

The participating judokas came from the four communities that the western sector includes: Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla León and the host Galicia, which also managed to proclaim itself as the most awarded in the medal table, obtaining a total of 10 golds, 7 silvers and 10 bronzes.
