The Gantoise felt aggrieved after the topper against Club Brugge. Tajon Buchanan elbowed Gift Orban in the face but VAR did not intervene. The Buffalos have made a statement that will get people talking.
On the La Gantoise site, the VAR is questioned. “Over the past few days, clubs, fans and the media have witnessed in bewilderment what has happened on our grounds. Many refereeing decisions that have been (not) taken have led to great misunderstanding and relevant questions.’ ‘
The Gentoise can’t believe that the VAR didn’t see the phase correctly. “Is it ignorance or ill will? Incomprehensible decisions make us ask the question out loud. They knew it was red.” So what’s going on here?
The Buffaloes also do not understand why the referee, Kevin Van Damme, returned as VAR immediately afterwards. This proves all the more the failure of the management and even of the board of directors of the Belgian Union. The management of La Gantoise wants answers and also appeals to other clubs. For these reasons, the club will write to the referees department. “Our club wants transparency about what happened last Sunday in Brugge and will ask clear questions about it. What exactly was communicated between the VAR and the referee? How Kevin Van Damme explains he himself what cannot be explained?”
