This Thursday afternoon (23/03) was special at CT Vale das Laranjeiras. Athletes Kevyn, Antônio, Mudolon, Davi Schuindt, Dohman, Miguel Vera, Luis Fernando, Cristyan Oliveira, Enzo and Hiago graduated from high school and were honored in the Xerém auditorium, with the presence of the tricolor board, the technical commission, the school and family representatives.

“It is a source of pride, an enormous satisfaction to be here having this training ceremony for these boys. We have to congratulate the athletes, those in charge, the technical commission, the schools, our psychosocial and pedagogue sector and all those who helped the players to complete this important moment in their lives. It is not easy being an athlete and graduating in Brazil. Our study system is not yet prepared for athletes, but we are, little by little, evolving in this sense”, said the executive director of the base, Antônio Garcia, who took the opportunity to praise the work of the club’s pedagogical psychosocial sector.

“We have a very well-structured psychosocial and educational sector led by our coordinator, Lucilene Diaz. A professional who is a reference in the area of education in sport and who is always invited to lectures and courses throughout Brazil. We are privileged to have her here with us”, recalled the director.

Fluminense has a training tripod that includes a club, a school and those responsible for the athletes. Xerém understood that in order to advance in its methodology, Tricolor would need parents and the school to be working in the same direction, all aligned in their speeches.

“It is important to have here at our graduation all the pillars of the development of these boys. There is the club, represented by our board and technical commission, the schools, represented by teacher Tatiana Ferreira, and the parents of the athletes. Our players are the center of our process of development, and the off-field is a fundamental part of training”, explained Lucilene Diaz.

For striker Enzo, from the Under-20 team, receiving this tribute from the club was emotional. The player played with the difficulties of reconciling studies with the routine of games, training and travel.

“Those who don’t play might think it’s easy, but it’s not. I’m happy to be here today, because it wasn’t simple. Parents always joke that training is our obligation, that we’re not doing more than our obligation. They’re right, but it’s a complicated obligation. I want to thank everyone who helped us, took our foot and made us realize how important studying is for people on and off the field”, said Enzo.
