Fikri/Bagas advanced to the second round

Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana overcame the fierce resistance of Kim Gi-Jung/Kim Sa-rang in the first round of the All England 2023. They won 21-15, 13-21, 21-16.

Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana against Kim Gi-jung/Kim Sa-rang (South Korea) in the first round of the All England 2023 held at Utilita Arena Birmingham starting Tuesday (14/3) at 17.00 WIB. The six Indonesian representatives were divided into two courts, namely courts 1 and 3.

Fikri/Bagas, who are the defending champions, faced fierce resistance from the Kim duo at the start of the first game. Chasing after the score occurred up to 4-4.

Fikri/Bagas, who are familiar with Bakri’s greeting, then performed well to be able to grab three consecutive points. They could go 7-4.

Bakri was able to keep the distance between points during the interval. They led 11-8 at halftime in the first game.

After the interval, Fikri/Bagas immediately stepped on the gas. They went away 14-9.

The South Korean couple did not give up trying to get closer. The points gap had closed to 18-15 still for the superiority of Fikri/Bagas.

At the crucial point, Fikri/Bagas did a challenge when it was deemed his serve was wide. Their challenge was successful until they were able to win 20-15. Fikri/Bagas then closed the first game by winning 21-15.

At the start of the second game, Fikri/Bagas made many mistakes. This result made Kim / Kim able to immediately lead 6-0.

Kim/Kim played more comfortably to lead 9-3. Fikri/Bagas just tried to get up after this.

They got points in a row to get close. However, Kim/Kim still managed to lead 11-8 during the interval.

Fikir/Bagas still found it difficult to reduce his own mistakes after the interval. This made Kim/Kim back away 17-9.

They were able to force their way into the third game after winning the second game 21-13.

A fierce duel took place in the deciding game. Chase numbers occur up to 7-7.

The points distance continued to meet until the position was tied at 14-14. Fikri/Bakri played aggressively at crucial points.

Nice game in front of the net made Fikri/Bagas win 19-16. The defending champion finished the match after winning 21-16 in the third game.
